Housman: Loveliest Of Trees The Cherry Now - Sneaky - 02.02.2011 Loveliest of trees, the cherry now Is hung with bloom along the bough, And stands about the woodland ride Wearing white for Eastertide. Now, of my threescore years and ten, Twenty will not come again, And take from seventy springs a score, It only leaves me fifty more. And since to look at things in bloom Fifty springs are little room, About the woodlands I will go To see the cherry hung with snow Der schönste ist der Kirschenbaum Man siehts Gezweig vor Blüten kaum Er steht am Waldrand, trägt als Kleid weiße Tracht zur Osterzeit. In meinen siebzig Jahren Leben wird es die 20 nicht mehr geben, zieht man von siebzig zwanzig ab, bleiben mir fünfzig grad so knapp. Und da, um Blüten zu genießen, die fünfzig Lenze rasch verfließen, treibts mich zum Wald wo er sich reckt mein Kirschenbaum, noch schneebedeckt. |
