Da‘s neue Jahr die alte Lust entdeckt
zieht‘s Denker hin, wo Stille sich erstreckt,
wo Bäume knospen weiß wie Moses Hand,
wo Jesu‘ Atem neu das Land erweckt.

die schwere Seele in die Stille strebt,
wo Moses Hand sich auf die Zweige legt
und aus der Erde Jesus sich erhebt.
